FAQs for Childcare Centers

How do I book a portrait day for my center? How far do you travel?

Contact us at hello@mxmphoto.com or scan this code with your camera app. The MXM Photography WF Team services Wichita Falls and surrounding areas. Mande, Emma and the DFW team are now servicing the DFW area!

What age range of students do you photograph?

We specialize in preschool and daycare portraits, so the primary age group is aged 6 weeks to 6 years. However, if your center has students of other ages, that’s not a problem at all. We also photograph middle through high school age groups, but those sessions are less “boutique” and more “yearbook style” - personality & and expression headshot sessions. We are happy to accommodate all ages!

Is there a minimum number of students needed?

Yes, to bring the preschool setup, we require a min of 50 children to be registered for portraits.

*If your center is under 50, you may reach out to student families to bring in younger/older siblings or to friends who may not attend care. In the event the minimum can not be met, we have a list of other local WF photographers on our home page.

Does it cost the center anything to have portraits taken?

For 50+ students and the studio set, there is no cost! Additionally, we offer several incentive options to your center such as a free group composite or fundraising opportunities!

What backgrounds do you offer? Can we do PreK cap & gown photos too?

We offer multiple backdrops for each season and allow the directors to choose their preferences! Cap & gown photos can be added to spring portraits if there is time or an additional date set to come back!

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes! We are licensed with the state of TX, the city of Wichita Falls, and insured through the Professional Photographers of America!

Do you offer sibling portraits or cousin portraits?

Absolutely! All students have the option of being photographed together and separately.

When do you schedule portrait sessions?

Photos are taken primarily in the Spring and Fall, but we also offer Christmas, PreK Graduation, and Summer options! We start first thing in the morning, depending on the number of students, and multiple days may be scheduled to ensure all students have the opportunity for top-notch portraits.

How long does each child's portrait session take?

Depending on the age of the child, anywhere from a minute or two to several minutes. Because every attempt is made to get personal with the children and to capture authentic smiles, there isn’t much of an "assembly line" - type structure to school portraits with us.

How many poses does each child get?

Our goal is to give each child an individualized mini-session. We go through a series of standing, sitting, and prop poses. Each child should have no less than 3 poses (pending willingness) but often receive 6+ images to choose from. Siblings will get a minimum of 2 poses together. Because of the unique style of our portraiture, every child will have a genuine unique, and hopefully, fun experience.

How do parents place orders? When do parents pay for pictures?

We do NOT take prepayments for school pictures! Each family receives an easy-to-use online website that showcases each child's photos in individually password-protected galleries. Parents order right there in their gallery, from their phones or computers! If some parents at your school need assistance with online ordering or prefer to pay via cash or check, this can always be arranged, and we are happy to help!

How long does it take for portraits to be able to view?

Due to our company being a family run business with minimal outsourcing, we request ten business days for galleries to be released. We may often run ahead of schedule and at our highest volume season, slightly behind. We appreciate your patience.

How long does it take for portraits to arrive?

Orders are batch-processed two weeks after being released for purchase and shipped directly to the center from a 3rd party lab in NY. Any orders that come in after are shipped directly to parents and usually arrive within about a week. Parents have TWO SUNDAYS to place their order once galleries are released in order to receive free shipping to the center.

What types of payment are accepted?

Online ordering accepts all major credit cards. For families that do not have online ordering access, payment can be made via Venmo, cash app, cash, or money order.

Can families place a second order or reorder more prints?

Of course! Photos stay online for at least six months! Families can order as much or as little as they'd like, including digitals with a print release.

Can parents use a coupon code in their order?

Absolutely, we always have a coupon available for the first two weeks of orders! Coupons can be found in the gallery email or the popup window when viewing. We encourage parents to buy photos during that early bird window for the best discounts!
