PREPARING YOUR CHILD

If your child’s dance studio has selected MXM Photography to capture their dance portraits, rest assured that the experience will be comfortable, friendly, and fun!

DISCUSS PICTURE DAY, BUT DON’T STRESS YOUR CHILD OUT

There’s no need to remind your child to smile, stand up tall, or keep their eyes open. (In fact, these types of instructions often make the process worse, because the child tries to do everything perfectly instead of just being natural in front of the camera!) We will do our absolute best to get those natural, genuine smiles. We will have posing banners or helpers to assist with ideas and move as quickly as possible.

COSTUMES

Dress your child in clean wrinkle free costumes. Please ensure all pieces, including tights, hair pieces and shoes, are accounted for. We will offer a place to change costumes in the event of back to back portrait sessions.

SIBLINGS

If siblings attend the same studio or being photographed on the same day, we are happy to take a sibling photo. Please just let the photographer know when it is your child’s turn. Sibling photos are typically taken during the younger child’s turn.
